Reconstructive Surgery - Clinical Studies
Cytori intends to sponsor two clinical studies in Europe in 2008 to further assess the potential for adipose-derived stem and regenerative cells extracted from with Celution™ System, for Cell-Enhanced Reconstruction of the breast following partial mastectomy to support market adoption and reimbursement.
Cytori’s RESTORE II study is a planned breast reconstruction post-marketing study to support reimbursement and early adoption of the reconstruction of soft tissue following a partial mastectomy in breast cancer patients. This multi-center study will include approximately 70 patients, enrollment is anticipated to begin in 2008.
The VENUS study is in patients with more severe damage and contour defects resulting from a partial mastectomy with radiation treatment. This single center study will include approximately 20 patients, is anticipated to begin in 2008.
