Reconstructive Surgery - Overview
The use of adipose-derived stem and regenerative cells (ADRCs) may represent a new option in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Cytori’s Cell-Enhanced Reconstruction is a procedure whereby a patient’s fat tissue is enriched with his or her own ADRCs to create a natural filler. Cytori launched the Celution® 800/CRS System, which received its CE Mark in Europe, into the reconstructive and aesthetic surgery market in 2008.
Patients, who underwent breast conserving surgery (partial mastectomy) as part of their treatment for breast cancer, often need breast reconstruction for the after-effects of breast cancer treatment such as disfigurement, breast asymmetry, tissue loss, pain, and other complications. The physician’s goal is to provide a safe, effective, and durable reconstruction option for these patients.
